چکیده

Measurments with combination pH electrodes of the pH of the dilute buffers used in a commercial kit (CEA-Roche) for assay of carcinoembryonic antigen resulted in pH values 0.1 to 0.3 unit lower than pH values measured on an electrode system with a capillary junction. If the pH values of these buffers were adjusted, based on such measurements, an error in the assay of 0.2 to 0.6 ng/ml in the 1.5-3.0 ng/ml range would result. We recommend that the pH of dialyzed samples and of the working ethylenediaminetetraacetate and ammonium acetate-acetic acid buffers be monitored with pH electrodes that have a capillary junction between sample and saturated KCI, as is true of most blood-pH instruments. We also recommend use of a 1 mol/liter rather than 2.5 mol/liter stock ammonium acetate-acetic acid buffer, because of the closer similarity of the pH of buffers at this molarity to those at 0.01 mol/liter.

An aptasensor based on electrosynthesized conducting polymers, Cu2O–carbon dots and biosynthesized gold nanoparticles, for monitoring carcinoembryonic antigen

Current work proposes an inimitable composite, with great electrical conductivity and quite enhanced surface area, (including conducting polymers (poly (cathechol)), Cu2O–carbon dots and green synthesized gold nanoparticles) for detecting acute carcinoembryonic antigen. At current work, the electropolymerization was offered instead of enzyme-catalyzed polymerization of poly (catechol). <b...

Carcinoembryonic Antigen Expression and Resistance to Radiation-and 5-Fluorouracil-Induced Apoptosis and Autophagy

Understanding the mechanism of tumor resistance is critical for cancer therapy. In this study, we investigated the effect of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) overexpression on UV-and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-induced apoptosis and autophagy in colorectal cancer cells. We used histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, NaB and DNA demethylating agent, 5- azacytidine (5-AZA) to induce CEA expression in HT29...

The isolation of carcinoembryonic antigen from tumor tissue at neutral pH.

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) was purified from tumor tissue under mild conditions at neutral pH by a procedure that utilized affinity chromatography on concanvalin A. Further purification by gel filtration provided CEA in 10 to 20% yield and 10% purity. Antibody to this preparation was rendered specific for CEA by adsorption on a column of normal liver proteins bound to Sepharose. On reaction...

Immunohistochemistry of carcinoembryonic antigen: characterisation of cross-reactions with other glycoproteins.

In the course of demonstrating carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in normal human small intestine cross-reactivity of specific antiserum against red blood cells, vascular endothelium, and Paneth cell granules was noted. Pretreatment of sections with periodic acid eliminated these cross-reactions without affecting the staining of CEA, indicating that the antigenic determinants shared between CEA and...
